HISTORY OF FIVE JEWELS
Five Jewels Corporation was established as a trading company in Davao City in the year 1966 along Leon Garcia Street. The Company focused mainly with buying coconut copra from Davao oriental as well as operating canteens in logging companies in the Davao region.
In the 1970's, during the boom in the banana industry in the region, the Company, together with Manila Cordage Company, pioneered in the production of “banana twine” to replace saplings to prevent the banana tree from toppling over its own weight.
During the 1980's, it started to establish new businesses in various sectors like rattan furniture production, cassava starch manufacturing and animal raising particularly in the hogs sector.
Through its subsidiaries, we have also ventured in the warehouse leasing business and distribution of animal feeds in the Davao and Misamis Oriental regions.
In addition, the company is into the distribution business, partnered with pharmaceutical brands like United Laboratories, Inc., in Davao del Sur.
